Day 1: Thrifted Buttons

The buttons in their natural habitat on my craft table.  I got these buttons from the PTO Thrift store.  I was sifting through drawers of them, and these were gorgeous.  


There's a secret to these buttons! 

Can you believe THEY ARE ALL PLASTIC?  The totally look vintage, and I snapped 'em up.  

I already started wiring one, then thought to take a pic.  This is all new to photo a project in process.  The entire time I was working on this, my 10 year old was having me help her write a poem about each planet in the solar system.  ARGH!!!!!!!  Oh well, we got it done, even though it about killed us both.  (The planet Uranus has a surface like pudding....wait- what rhymes with pudding?)

Anyhoo, I wired the hell out of them through the shanks, and TA-DA!  I ended up with a vintage looking pendant on a silver chain.  I'm going to pop this one on my Etsy store.  I like it.  It's a good start for a first day project! :)
